Tło z użyciem maski - kurs - A Masked background using watercolors - tutorial

Hey there! Lizzy with you today to take you through how I created this background --->

This technique uses a mask with watercolors.  I have chosen the BRICK mask, but you can do any you choose.
YOU WILL NEED:
mask,
water colour paper,
water colors - paints, pencils, inks, or Gelatos,
brush or water pen
marker - water based
ink colour spray [light color] or water spray
STEP 1:     Adhere mask with some masking or washi tape so it remains firmly in place, then carefully outline the mask with the marker.
KROK 1: przyklej maskę z pomocą taśmy klejącej albo washi w konkretne miejscem, odrysuj kontury z pisakiem.
STEP 2:     Fill in with watercolors. Start with the lightest color first. I used 3 different colors. Leave to dry.
KROK 2: Pokoloruj cegły akwarelkami. Zacznij od najjaśniejszego koloru. Ja użyłam trzech kolorów. Zostaw kartkę do wyschnięcia.
You can stop right now, use this as your background. But I like the 'smudge' effect when you add water or a light colored spray ink.
So, you can do this extra step:
Możesz skończyć już w tym momencie i użyć kartkę jako tło. Ja jednak wolę rozmyte wzory.
STEP 3:     Carefully mist over the whole page, allowing the colour to run and pool. If it is too wet, dab with some paper towel. Leave to dry.
Zostaw kartkę do wyschnięcia.

Once it is dried it will look like this: Tak wygląda wysuszone tło:

Now, of course, you can play around with your embellishments! I made the card at the top of this post first. I also used this on the card!

The 'Best Day Ever' stamp and flair are both 3rd Eye.
For my 2nd card, I added some gold heat embossed background stamping as well as some fussy cut gold embossed stamped feathers:
Użyłam tutaj  badzika i stempla z 3rd Eye.
W drugiej kartce znajdziecie embossowany wzór diamentów i embossowane tekturki - piórka.
And some close ups so you can see that sparkle: Parę zbliżeń na błyskotki:

I hope you find this technique useful - if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.
Mam nadzieję, że spodobała Wam sie ta technika - jeśli macie pytania - zostawcie komentarz.

  6. I enjoyed the tutorial Lizzy and the finished cards too. May I ask some questions? Is the yellow made with dylusions ink put into a water pen? Did you add the gelatos directly to the paper or mix them first? I often have trouble trying to get gelatos to completely dissolve. TIA :)

    1. Hey Helen! In the photo just after step 2, on the far left, you can see a plastic lid? I 'scribble' some gelatos onto that, then using a water pen soften them up..then pick up the paste & 'colour' in my image... Seems to work ok! Hope that helps:):)

  7. Great tutorial Lizzy and that background looks fabulous.....I agree with Helen I dont like the effect of gelatos straight onto the paper.. I grind mine down into watercolour past and then use like that. The bricks look gorgeous...Beautiful card.
